A week (ish) in my life.

The following Photo's took place over the course of 7 days from Wednesday the 14th of November to Wednesday the 21st (Although I didn't take a photo on Tuesday the 20th or Saturday the 17th since I didn't really do anything that was photo worthy)

Wednesday; 14/11/12

The 4 bands named on that ticket are 4 of my favourite bands. Although (as it states on the ticket), the show took place in Birmingham which meant a very boring 4 hour bus ride to get there.
This is just a quick photo I took while on the bus since the view was outstanding (The photo itself is rubbish and does the scenery no justice)
After the show had finished I had the chance to meet Frankie Palmeri, the vocalist for the band Emmure who (despite his appearance) was a genuinely lovely bloke.

Thursday; 15/11/12

Being tired, bruised and very bored on the return leg of my trip to Birmingham, I decided to take photo's of myself on the bus to pass the time. This is that photo...

Friday; 16/11/12

I play guitar in a heavy metal band and every Friday I make a weekly commute to Cardiff for a few hours of band practice.

Sunday; 18/11/12

In my spare time I like to make electronic music on my laptop varying from genre's like House and Trance to Dubstep and Drum and Bass. Sunday was spent producing a track to which a good friend of mine (A talented rap artist) agreed to collaborate on.

Monday; 19/11/12

My entire Monday was spent here...

Wednesday; 21/11/12

On Wednesday my girlfriend basically forced me to go to the cinema with her to see the new Twilight movie. But then she treated me to a Nando's so you'll hear no complaints off me.

So there you go. I'm not an exceptionally exciting person but I hope this post gave you a small insight into my hobbies and interests.

Reflection

Above is a small mindmap I created using bubbl.us to show the ways in which I reflect and the ways I go about it. bubbl.us is a great site for creating mind maps as it is quick, easy and effective way to create aesthetically pleasing mind maps to aid you in revision or any other form of work that requires planning.

How Are Blogs Different To Websites?

Depending on what kind of websie you visit the differences and similarties between blogs and websites can differ greatly. For example if you were to go onto a news website you would find articles written by people which are very similar to blogs. However if you were to visit the official Emmerdale website it would differ greatly.

http://www.itv.com/emmerdale/

The page is full of links to different pages for different inormation on a bunch of different subjects. It offers information on the plot, hints at what could happen in the near future and other options such as promotional competitions.

Thanks for reading, please enjoy this expertly written piece of TV gold.

What Is A Blog?

From my current understanding, I recognise a blog as angry, shouty people ranting about things over the internet so that they're equally as angry and shouty followers can read it and agree without actually bothering to do anything about the subject they're getting angry and shouty about. Or they contain content that a very small population actually have an interest in, since the content isn't socially considered as "cool".

http://soaps-blog.com/

This link is a perfect example. A blog ran by a woman (and probably also her many, many cats) about soap opera's. Now, persoanlly if I wanted to know what was happeneing in a soap opera I would watch the re-run's or an omni-bus or something and not read some lady's chronological documentation on what happened.

Whilst there have been blogs which I have seen before and actually enjoyed the content, most of the one's I've seen have been run by people that match the criteria of my earlier statement.

I'm sure however that through writing this blog and following others that my view will change over time.

What's Going On Internet?

How's it going, Internet?

I'm Gavin Keatley and I'm studying Educational in sunny Swansea Met. So far the course is actually pretty sweet since I have done little more than go to uni for a few hours a day, go home and play Zelda, with the odd outing into town (one of which involved me losing my shoes and spending the next day in A&E).

So yeah, this is my blog. Hope you enjoy.
